Matchbox the Movie Soundtrack (2026): Every Song

Bringing Mattel's legendary die-cast toy line to the big screen, Matchbox: The Movie (2026) is a high-octane action-comedy directed by stunt-specialist filmmaker Sam Hargrave (Extraction). The globe-trotting adventure stars John Cena as Sean Walker, a former childhood daredevil turned covert CIA operative who inadvertently pulls his estranged hometown crew—including Aimee (Jessica Biel) and Crosby (Sam Richardson)—into a high-stakes international conspiracy involving a hijacked nuclear weapon. Combining Hargrave’s signature kinetic stunt coordination with vehicular combat across desert canyons and European backstreets, the film blends adrenaline-fueled chases with classic nostalgia and laugh-out-loud team banter.

The licensed soundtrack for Matchbox: The Movie fuels its pedal-to-the-metal pace with an electrifying mix of high-energy classic rock and modern southern soul. Leading the driving sequence anthem is Tom Petty’s timeless heartland rocker 'Runnin' Down a Dream', alongside a blistering alternative rendition by First to Eleven that amps up the nitro-charged vehicular pursuits. Southern rock sensation Marcus King delivers the gritty, blues-infused track 'Workin' For A Livin'', while eclectic needle drops from Karen Dalton ('Something on Your Mind') and Calimossa ('Planet X') provide rhythmic depth to the film's international escapades and intimate character reunions.
