A Family Affair Soundtrack (2024): All Songs & Scene Music Guide
A Family Affair is a 2024 romantic comedy that follows Zara Ford (Joey King), a young woman exhausted by her job as the personal assistant to the self-absorbed and high-maintenance Hollywood superstar Chris Cole (Zac Efron). After Zara finally decides to quit her unrewarding position, Chris visits her house to win her back, only to inadvertently meet and spark an intense, unexpected romance with her widowed mother, Brooke Harwood (Nicole Kidman). This sudden, awkward entanglement forces the trio to navigate the hilarious and messy complications of love, boundaries, and identity as a furious Zara tries to survive the ultimate nightmare of her former boss dating her mom.
The soundtrack for the 2024 Netflix romantic comedy A Family Affair features a contemporary pop and alternative playlist curated by music supervisor Stephanie Diaz-Matos. Key scenes are accompanied by popular hits, including Sabrina Carpenter's chart-topping single 'Feather' and Miley Cyrus' groove-heavy track 'Rose Colored Lenses.' The soundtrack list also highlights modern pop artists like Selena Gomez with her single 'Love On' and HAIM's 'Don't Wanna,' matching the movie's bright and stylish setting.
One of the most memorable musical moments in A Family Affair features Zac Efron's character, Chris Cole, singing along to Cher's dance-pop classic 'Believe' in the car. The movie also blends in retro and dance favorites like Wham!'s 80s hit 'I'm Your Man' and Blondie's punk-pop track 'Dreaming.' These high-energy tracks balance the film's comedy and awkward family situations, giving viewers a catchy mix of old and new tunes.
