Charlotte Gainsbourg

Charlotte Lucy Gainsbourg is an acclaimed Anglo-French actress and singer-songwriter born on July 21, 1971, in London, England. Raised in Paris as the daughter of iconic British actress Jane Birkin and legendary French musician Serge Gainsbourg, she was immersed in the arts from birth. She made her cinematic debut at age 12 in Paroles et Musique and her musical debut alongside her father with the controversial duet "Lemon Incest". Over her decades-long career, Gainsbourg has built a reputation for her fearless, unconventional choice of roles, frequently collaborating with Danish auteur Lars von Trier in provocative films like Antichrist—which won her the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
