Blondie

Formed in New York City in 1974 by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein, Blondie emerged from the CBGB punk scene to become pioneers of American new wave, famously blending punk, disco, reggae, and early hip-hop. Defined by Harry's icy-cool vocals and iconic persona, the band achieved massive international stardom with their 1978 breakthrough album Parallel Lines and hits like "Heart of Glass," "Call Me," and "Rapture". Despite disbanding in 1982 due to internal friction and health issues, they reunited in the late 1990s, continuing to tour, release music, and solidifying their legacy with a 2006 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
