Tip Toe Soundtrack Guide

Russell T Davies (It's a Sin, Queer as Folk) brings his signature dramatic tension to Channel 4 with Tip Toe, a four-part psychological miniseries set in suburban Manchester. Alan Cumming stars as Leo alongside David Morrissey as his neighbor Clive, two men who have lived next door to each other in quiet harmony for fifteen years. A minor dispute over a set of spare keys quickly snowballs into an obsessive, toxic feud fueled by simmering prejudices and neighborhood paranoia. Supported by standout performances from Elizabeth Berrington and Denise Welch, the drama delivers an uncomfortable, darkly funny look at how easily domestic civility can collapse into open hostility.

The vibrant nightlife of Manchester’s Canal Street sets the rhythm for the show's soundtrack, contrasting Leo’s energetic social life with the mounting claustrophobia next door. Music supervisors Hannah Charman and Isobel Clark pack the episodes with dance-floor energy, featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s catchy pop cut "Freedom Of The Night" and the brooding, bass-heavy bounce of Sam Smith and Kim Petras’s global hit "Unholy". The tracklist also pulls in Agnes’s club anthem "WAKE UP", Aquaholics' "Need Of U", and an energetic Afrojack remix of Donna Summer’s disco standard "I Feel Love", giving the domestic tension a distinct Northern club identity.
