The Hunting Wives Soundtrack Season 2 (2026) Guide
Following the events of the first season finale, the highly anticipated second season of Netflix's thriller series The Hunting Wives finds estranged foes Sophie O'Neil (Brittany Snow) and Margo Banks (Malin Åkerman) initially at odds in Maple Brook, Texas. However, as Margo’s husband campaigns for governor, a time jump, deeply buried secrets, and the sudden arrival of dangerous new adversaries, including characters played by John Stamos and Dale Dickey, force the two women into an uneasy reconciliation. Trapped once again in a treacherous web of high-society sins, obsession, and scandals, they must navigate a high-stakes psychological game where the line between predator and prey completely blurs.
Returning to the sultry, blood-stained shadows of Maple Brook, Texas, Netflix's psychological thriller The Hunting Wives gears up for its second season with an explosive promise of reckoning and revenge. As estranged frenemies Sophie O'Neil (Brittany Snow) and Margo Banks (Malin Åkerman) find their toxic alliance reignited amidst high-stakes political ambitions and deadly new rivals, the season's promotional campaign sets an ominous tone. The official trailer immediately grabs viewers with Nancy Sinatra's haunting 1966 western-pop masterpiece 'Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)', its twangy guitar and melancholic vocals foreshadowing the treacherous power struggle where the line between hunter and hunted completely evaporates.
The musical of The Hunting Wives has always been rooted in a dark, atmospheric blend of southern gothic, sultry Americana, and subversive indie noir. Season one established this signature tension under music supervisor Kier Lehman and composer Jeff Danna, layering vintage torch songs alongside brooding tracks from artists like Patsy Cline, Jessica Pratt, and Orville Peck. As season two expands into dangerous new territory—marked by a major narrative time jump and the arrival of formidable adversaries played by John Stamos and Dale Dickey—the soundtrack continues to elevate the show's seductive Texas noir aesthetic with brooding needle drops and tense orchestral undercurrents.
