The Beast in Me is a Netflix psychological thriller that follows Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes), an acclaimed author who has isolated herself from public life while deeply grieving the tragic death of her young son. Struggling with severe writer's block, her stagnant world shifts dramatically when Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), a wealthy and powerful real estate mogul, moves in next door. Nile happens to be the prime suspect in the mysterious disappearance and alleged murder of his first wife. Intrigued and seeking inspiration for a new book, Aggie begins to closely investigate her enigmatic neighbor, only to find herself entangled in an unsettling cat-and-mouse mind game that forces her to confront her own dark urges as she uncovers just how dangerous he truly is.
