Stranger Things is a science fiction horror series set in the 1980s that follows a group of young friends in Hawkins, Indiana, who uncover a series of supernatural events involving secret government experiments and a parallel dimension known as the Upside Down. The series kicks off when one of the boys, Will Byers, disappears, and his friends, his mother, and the local police chief become entangled in the mystery, aided by a mysterious girl with telekinetic powers named Eleven.
