In the five-part supernatural thriller Possession, Claudia (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), an ambitious Bristol lawyer, travels to Jamaica to handle a high-stakes legal battle. She must help Oliver Connaught (Jonny Lee Miller), a wealthy aristocrat, challenge his late father's controversial will, which leaves the family fortune to a local man, Cudjoe East (Sheldon Shepherd). The case takes a terrifying turn when Claudia realizes the contested plantation estate, Hope Hill, is the exact place from her recurring nightmares. As they dig into the property's dark history, they accidentally awaken the vengeful 18th-century spirit of its former mistress (Bel Powley), blurring past and present while exposing a chilling colonial legacy.
