In the BBC One comedy-drama Ludwig, John Taylor (played by David Mitchell) is a highly eccentric, reclusive crossword puzzle setter who lives a completely solitary life under the pen name "Ludwig". His quiet world is entirely upended when his identical twin brother, James, a respected Detective Chief Inspector, mysteriously vanishes without a trace. Urged by his determined sister-in-law Lucy (Anna Maxwell Martin), John reluctantly steps outside his comfort zone to impersonate his brother within the Cambridge police force. Completely unequipped for the modern world but armed with a masterfully analytical mind, he begins applying pure puzzle-solving logic to crack complex murder cases while desperately hunting for clues to uncover the conspiracy behind his twin's disappearance.
