Chad Powers follows the spectacular downfall of Russ Holliday (Glen Powell), an arrogant star college quarterback whose promising football career is completely nuked after an unforgivable, highly publicized meltdown during a national championship game. Desperate for a second chance at redemption eight years later, Russ undergoes a radical physical transformation, utilizing a wig and facial prosthetics, to invent an eccentric, sweetly naive alter ego named Chad Powers. Posing as this talented oddball walk-on player, he successfully joins the struggling South Georgia Catfish football team, where he must navigate hilarious locker room dynamics, win over a skeptical coaching staff, and keep his true identity hidden from the public eye while trying to resurrect his shattered athletic dreams.
