Boarders is a BBC comedy-drama that follows five talented Black inner-city teenagers from South London who are offered sixth-form scholarships to St Gilbert’s, one of Britain’s oldest and most prestigious boarding schools, as a PR rehabilitation exercise following a viral video incident. As they navigate an alien, predominantly white world steeped in complex social rules, classism, and systemic racial hostility, the lead characters, Jaheim, Leah, Omar, Toby, and Femi, must work together to survive and succeed while staying true to themselves.
