The Dust Brothers

The Dust Brothers are an influential American music production and songwriting duo comprised of John King and Michael "E.Z. Mike" Simpson, best known for pioneering a complex, sample-heavy sound that defined 1990s alternative music. Formed in Los Angeles in 1985, they gained legendary status for producing the Beastie Boys' seminal album Paul's Boutique, followed by massive successes with Beck's Odelay, Hanson's "MMMBop," and the cult-classic soundtrack for Fight Club. Renowned for their "cut-and-paste" method, they blended hip-hop aesthetics with rock and pop, leaving a lasting impact on record production. Notably, they are distinct from, and famously forced a name change upon, the British electronic act formerly known as the Chemical Brothers
