Jeff Russo

Jeff Russo (born August 31, 1969) is a multi-talented American composer, producer, and musician who first rose to fame as a founding member and lead guitarist of the multi-platinum, two-time Grammy-nominated rock band Tonic. Transitioning into film and television scoring in 2006 with mentorship from Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman, he has since become one of the industry's most prolific composers, particularly noted for his atmospheric and character-driven scores. He won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2017 for his work on the anthology series Fargo and is widely recognized for defining the modern sound of the Star Trek franchise, including Discovery, Picard, and Strange New Worlds. His diverse portfolio further includes high-profile series such as The Umbrella Academy, Legion, and Ripley, as well as the critically acclaimed video game What Remains of Edith Finch, which earned him a BAFTA nomination.
