Bobby Krlic

Bobby Krlic is a British composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist widely recognized for his haunting, experimental soundscapes both as a solo artist and a film scorer. Born in Wakefield, England, he first gained critical acclaim under the moniker The Haxan Cloak, releasing influential dark ambient and drone albums like Excavation (2013), which explored themes of mortality through intense electronic and acoustic textures. His unique aesthetic led to high-profile collaborations as a producer for artists such as Björk, Father John Misty, and Khalid. Krlic’s career reached a new mainstream peak with his breakthrough Ivor Novello Award-winning score for Ari Aster’s folk-horror film Midsommar (2019), initiating a frequent partnership with the director that continued with Beau Is Afraid (2023). His versatile portfolio now spans major television series like Netflix's Beef and Snowpiercer, blockbusters like Blue Beetle, and acclaimed video game soundtracks such as Housemarque's Returnal, for which he won a BAFTA Games Award.
