
Atli Örvarsson
Born on July 7, 1970, in Akureyri, Iceland, Atli Örvarsson is a BAFTA-winning and Emmy-nominated composer recognized for his versatile work across Hollywood blockbusters and acclaimed television series. Initially a member of the platinum-selling Icelandic rock band Sálin hans Jóns míns, he relocated to the United States to study film scoring at the Berklee College of Music before beginning his career under television legend Mike Post and film icon Hans Zimmer. His extensive filmography includes scores for The Hitman's Bodyguard, Vantage Point, and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, as well as television staples like NBC’s Chicago Fire and CBS’s FBI franchises. In 2024, he won a BAFTA TV Craft Award for his atmospheric, dystopian score for the Apple TV+ series Silo, and he continues to operate the INNI label to promote Icelandic artists from his home in Akureyri.
