Young Thug (born Jeffery Lamar Williams II; 1991) is a highly influential American rapper and fashion icon from Atlanta, Georgia, widely regarded as a pioneer of modern trap and the "mumble rap" microgenre. He rose to prominence in 2013 after signing with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records and releasing the critically acclaimed mixtape 1017 Thug, followed by mainstream hits like "Stoner" and "Lifestyle".
