Yazz
Born Yasmin Evans in Shepherd's Bush, London, in 1960, Yazz is a British pop singer who skyrocketed to international fame in 1988 with her massive hit "The Only Way Is Up". Initially starting as a catwalk model, she transitioned into music, first gaining attention as the featured vocalist on Coldcut's "Doctorin' the House" before launching a solo career with her debut album, Wanted. Known for her high-energy dance-pop and signature short, bleached-blonde hair, she scored several UK top-ten hits, including "Stand Up for Your Love Rights" and "Fine Time". In the late 1990s, after a period of personal reevaluation, she embraced the Christian faith, which influenced her later recordings like the 2008 album Running Back to You. Today, she resides in Spain and remains an active member of her local church, occasionally returning to the UK for faith-based performances.
