
Vicki Lawrence
Vicki Lawrence (born Vicki Ann Axelrad, March 26, 1949) is an American actress, comedienne, and singer famous for her roles as the sharp-tongued matriarch Thelma "Mama" Harper in Mama's Family and as a regular on The Carol Burnett Show, from which Mama's Family spun off. She achieved a #1 hit with the song "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" and also hosted game shows like Win, Lose or Draw. Lawrence is known for her comedy, storytelling, and later became an advocate for liberal causes, supporting the Democratic Party.
