The Vines
The Vines were a highly influential Australian garage/alternative rock band formed in Sydney in 1994, known for their raw blend of '60s garage rock and '90s grunge, fronted by Craig Nicholls, who remained the sole constant member. Their 2002 debut album Highly Evolved, featuring hit "Get Free," brought them international fame, winning an ARIA award and landing them on the cover of Rolling Stone, but internal struggles, Nicholls' mental health, and band changes marked their career, leading to subsequent albums like Winning Days (2004) and Melodia (2008) before a hiatus.
