The J. Geils Band
The J. Geils Band was an American rock band formed in Massachusetts in 1967, known for their R&B-infused blues-rock in the '70s, evolving to pop-rock hits like "Centerfold" and "Freeze-Frame" in the '80s, featuring charismatic frontman Peter Wolf and namesake guitarist J. Geils, before internal tensions led to Wolf's departure in 1983 and the band's breakup in 1985, though they reunited periodically until J. Geils' death in 2017.
