Formed in Bath, England, in 2007 by vocalist Kelvin Swaby and guitarist Dan Taylor, who met while working at a clothing store, The Heavy is a dynamic rock band known for their gritty, genre-blending sound that merges funk, garage rock, soul, and hip-hop samples. Backed by bassist Spencer Page and drummer Chris Ellul, the group achieved significant international recognition with their signature hit "How You Like Me Now?" and "Short Change Hero," both of which became staples in film, television, and advertising. Known for their high-energy performances and cinematic, dirty-soul aesthetic, they have released several acclaimed albums on the Ninja Tune label, solidifying their reputation as modern funk-rock innovators.
