Terry Callier
Terry Callier (1945-2012) was a Chicago-born jazz, soul, and folk singer-songwriter known for his distinctive voice and blending of genres, who found fame in the UK acid jazz scene decades after his initial 1960s recordings, collaborating with artists like Massive Attack and Beth Orton before his death from cancer at age 67. He initially signed to Chess Records and released acclaimed albums in the '70s like What Color Is Love, but left music in the '80s to raise his daughter, only to be rediscovered by British DJs and return to a celebrated career in the late '90s and 2000s.
