Sunday (1994)
Sunday (1994) is a London-based English-American dream pop band formed by real-life couple Paige Turner (from Los Angeles) and Lee Newell (from Slough, England), who met in 2014 and previously wrote songs for other artists and advertisements. Following a decade of collaboration, they emerged in early 2024 with a self-titled EP, characterized by cinematic 90s nostalgia, candid songwriting, and a viral following on TikTok. With an added enigmatic drummer named Puma (or "X"), the trio—whose name is a nod to both Italian family gatherings and a desire to sound like a film title—blend melancholic guitar with honest, often dark-humoured lyrics that explore the mundanity of modern life and relationships. They have gained critical acclaim and radio support from BBC Radio 1 and 6Music, subsequently releasing a, deluxe EP, the single "Doomsday" (2025), and embarking on international tours.
