
Steppenwolf
Steppenwolf was a Canadian-American hard rock band (1967–1972) famous for the 1968 counterculture anthem "Born to Be Wild" and "Magic Carpet Ride," helping define early heavy metal. Formed in Los Angeles from the blues-rock group The Sparrows, they were led by vocalist John Kay, producing 8 gold albums and over 25 million records sold.
