Slayer
Slayer was an iconic American thrash metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King, bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, and drummer Dave Lombardo, becoming one of the "Big Four" thrash bands with their fast, aggressive sound and controversial Satanic/war-themed lyrics, famously breaking through with 1986's Reign in Blood and concluding their main run with a farewell tour ending in 2019, though they've recently reunited for select festival dates.
