Silverchair

Silverchair was a highly successful Australian alternative rock band formed in Newcastle in 1992 by Daniel Johns (vocals/guitar), Ben Gillies (drums), and Chris Joannou (bass), rising to fame with their hit "Tomorrow" before evolving from grunge to orchestral rock, achieving massive local success (21 ARIAs) and global sales, then entering an indefinite hiatus in 2011. The band, originally named Innocent Criminals, became known for their powerful sound, chart dominance with albums like Frogstomp and Diorama, and for their members' intense personal journeys, including Johns' health struggles, culminating in their extended break.
