Raphael Saadiq (born Charles Ray Wiggins in Oakland, CA) is a Grammy-winning American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, famous for his "old school" R&B sound, rising with Tony! Toni! Toné! in the late '80s and '90s, known for hits like "Feels Good" and "Anniversary," and later forging a successful solo career and producing for major artists like D'Angelo, Mary J. Blige, and Solange, while also co-founding the supergroup Lucy Pearl. He's celebrated for his deep musicality, diverse instrumentals (including his signature bass), and critically acclaimed albums like Instant Vintage and The Way I See It.
