Panic! At the Disco

Panic! At the Disco was an American rock project formed in 2004 in Las Vegas, originally as a high school band featuring childhood friends Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, Brent Wilson, and charismatic frontman Brendon Urie. They shot to instant stardom with their double-platinum debut album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (2005), fueled by the baroque-pop hit "I Write Sins Not Tragedies." Known for their theatrical style and frequent genre-shifting—ranging from psychedelic rock on Pretty. Odd. to synth-pop and swing—the band underwent several lineup changes until 2015, when it effectively became Urie's solo project. Under this iteration, the group achieved its greatest commercial peak with the 2018 anthem "High Hopes" from the album Pray for the Wicked. After nearly two decades of influence on the alternative scene, Urie announced the project's conclusion in early 2023 to focus on his family.
