Kiesza
Kiesa Rae Ellestad (born January 16, 1989), known professionally as Kiesza, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Calgary who achieved international stardom with her 2014 breakout house hit "Hideaway" and its accompanying one-take music video. Trained early as a ballerina and later serving as a Naval Communicator, she studied at the Berklee College of Music before transitioning from folk to a dynamic "SteamPop" sound in New York City. Following the success of her 2014 debut album Sound of a Woman and collaborations with artists like Skrillex and Diplo, she faced a career-halting traumatic brain injury from a 2017 car accident in Toronto. After a rigorous two-year recovery, Kiesza returned as an independent artist with her own label, Zebra Spirit Tribe, releasing the album Crave (2020) and subsequent projects like Dancing and Crying (2024–2025).
