Joey Valence
Joey Valence, born Joseph Bertolino, is an American rapper and producer from State College, Pennsylvania, best known as the creative lead for the alternative hip-hop duo Joey Valence & Brae. He began producing music in his bedroom at a young age before meeting his musical partner, Braedan Lugue (Brae), during their freshman year at Pennsylvania State University in 2018. Acting as the duo's primary producer, mixer, and masterer, Joey gained viral fame on platforms like TikTok with tracks such as "Punk Tactics" and "Crank It Up," which are celebrated for their high-energy blend of 90s boom bap, hardcore punk, and electronic elements. Despite his rapid rise to international festivals like Lollapalooza and appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Joey has maintained a distinct DIY ethos, continuing to record much of the duo's material in his home studio.
