Jim Croce
Jim Croce (1943-1973) was a beloved American folk-rock singer-songwriter known for his witty, poignant lyrics and storytelling, who achieved major success in the early 1970s with hits like "Time in a Bottle" and "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" before tragically dying in a plane crash at age 30, just as his career peaked. He started with folk music in the '60s, performing with his wife Ingrid, but after financial struggles and odd jobs, his breakthrough came with his 1972 album You Don't Mess Around with Jim, leading to sold-out tours and posthumous recognition.
