Friedberg
Anna Friedberg, born Anna Wappel in Styria, Austria, is the lead singer and mastermind behind the London-based all-female alt-pop quartet Friedberg. Before forming the band in 2019, she enjoyed a prominent solo career under the name Anna F., where she won multiple Amadeus Austrian Music Awards and opened for legends like Lenny Kravitz. Seeking a more collaborative and gritty creative direction, she moved to London to form Friedberg, a project known for its distinctive blend of post-punk, dance-punk, and indie-rock, often punctuated by her signature use of cowbells. The band gained massive traction with the single "Go Wild," which featured on the FIFA 20 soundtrack and the series Normal People, and continued their rise with the 2024 release of "My Best Friend" from their debut album, Hardcore Workout Queen. By 2026, the group had cemented their reputation for electric live performances through extensive touring with acts like Giant Rooks and Placebo across Europe and North America.
