Fever Ray
Fever Ray is the solo project of Karin Dreijer, a Swedish singer, songwriter, and producer renowned for their work in the electronic duo The Knife. Known for an avant-garde approach to synth-pop, Fever Ray debuted in 2009 with a self-titled album that explored themes of motherhood and depression through haunting, pitch-shifted vocals. Following a long hiatus, they returned with the 2017 album Plunge, which adopted a more abrasive, queer-feminist, and political tone, followed by the 2023 album Radical Romantics. Dreijer's artistry is defined by anonymity, utilizing complex, theatrical costumes, masks, and immersive performances to create a distinct, often dark and experimental soundscape.
