EMF
EMF (short for Epsom Mad Funkers) is an English alternative rock/dance band formed in Cinderford, Gloucestershire, in 1989, best known for their 1990 international hit single "Unbelievable". Comprised of James Atkin (vocals), Ian Dench (guitar), Derry Brownson (keys/samples), Zac Foley (bass), and Mark Decloedt (drums), they gained rapid popularity with a fusion of indie rock and techno, culminating in the chart-topping debut album Schubert Dip (1991). Following a commercially successful but chaotic early-'90s period and a subsequent split in 1997, the band reunited intermittently, enduring the tragic 2002 death of bassist Zac Foley. Despite these setbacks, the band has continued to perform, releasing their first album of new material in 27 years, Go Go Sapiens, in 2022 and maintaining their reputation as a energetic, synth-driven indie band.
