Dan Hartman (1950–1994) was a highly versatile American singer, songwriter, and producer known for hits like "I Can Dream About You," "Instant Replay," and "Relight My Fire". Rising to fame with The Edgar Winter Group—writing "Free Ride"—he became a successful solo artist and producer for acts like James Brown. He died at 43 from AIDS-related causes.
