Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, born February 23, 1996, and known professionally as CMAT, is a celebrated Irish singer-songwriter from Dublin who has taken the music world by storm with her unique blend of indie-pop and classic country lyricism. After briefly studying at Trinity College Dublin and moving through Denmark and Manchester—where she fronted the toxic music project Bad Sea—a chance motivational talk from pop icon Charli XCX inspired her to reset her life and pursue a solo career. She quickly captured critical acclaim with her humor-laced, emotionally raw storytelling, hitting number one on the Irish charts with her 2022 debut album, If My Wife New I'd Be Dead.
