Bishop Briggs
Bishop Briggs, born Sarah Grace McLaughlin on July 18, 1992, in London to Scottish parents, is a British-American singer-songwriter known for her powerful, smoky vocals and a blend of alternative, pop, and electronic music. Raised in Tokyo and Hong Kong, where she was inspired to pursue music after karaoke performances, she moved to Los Angeles at age 18 to launch her career. She gained mainstream attention with her 2016 breakthrough single "River," which hit the top 3 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart and was followed by her debut album Church of Scars (2018) and the sophomore album Champion (2019). Known for her emotionally raw, personal songwriting, often navigating themes of grief following the loss of her sister in 2021, Briggs has toured with Coldplay, played major festivals like Coachella, and won the ninth season of The Masked Singer as Medusa in 2023.
