
Andrew Gold
Andrew Maurice Gold (1951–2011) was a highly influential American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who helped define the 1970s Los Angeles pop-rock sound. As a prolific session musician, he is best known for his work with Linda Ronstadt and his solo hits "Lonely Boy" (1977), "Never Let Her Slip Away" (1978), and the Golden Girls theme, "Thank You for Being a Friend" (1978). Later, he achieved international success in the 1980s with the band Wax alongside 10cc's Graham Gouldman.
