Alessi Brothers
The Alessi Brothers, identical twins Billy and Bobby Alessi (born July 12, 1953), are an American pop-rock duo celebrated for their distinctive vocal harmonies and "soft rock" sound. They achieved global stardom in 1977 with the hit single "Oh Lori," which reached the top ten in 17 countries, and later gained cult status for their track "Savin' the Day" from the 1984 Ghostbusters soundtrack. Beyond their own discography of five major-label albums, the brothers are prolific songwriters and arrangers who have collaborated with legends such as Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and Art Garfunkel, while also dominating the 1980s and 90s commercial industry by composing jingles for brands like Diet Coke and Ford. Their 1976 track "Seabird" has seen a massive 2020s resurgence due to its inclusion in projects like Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Our Flag Means Death, and most recently, a prominent 2024 placement that continues to introduce their music to new generations. As of early 2026, the duo remains active in their long-standing band Barnaby Bye and continues to perform live, including high-profile appearances at fan events like Ghostbusters Day.
