Ah2
Ah2 is a Los Angeles–based music duo formed in 2003 by American composers Jeff Lippencott and Mark T. Williams. The pair created Ah2 to specialize in composing themes and background scores for television and film. Their first major network television opportunity under the Ah2 name came through executive producer Mark Burnett. The duo composed music for The Apprentice (2004), hosted by Donald Trump, which quickly became a major ratings hit. This success led to further collaboration with Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett on the series On the Lot, earning Ah2 their first Emmy nomination in 2007 for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music. Ah2’s television credits include music for The Biggest Loser (2004), Beauty and the Geek (2004), Rock Star INXS/Supernova (2004–2005), The Contender (2005–2008), High School Musical: Get in the Picture (2008), American Gladiators (2008), Kid Nation (2008), and The Martha Stewart Show (2005–2012). Beyond these programs, their music has been composed and licensed for thousands of hours of television broadcasts worldwide. The duo has received multiple ASCAP and BMI Film and Television Awards. They have also earned two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music—one in 2007 for FOX’s On the Lot and another in 2008 for CBS’s Kid Nation.
