AC/DC
Formed in Sydney in 1973 by Scottish-born brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, AC/DC became a defining force in rock and roll, characterized by high-voltage energy and the iconic schoolboy stage persona of lead guitarist Angus. After early success in Australia with albums like High Voltage, they achieved international stardom with the 1979 masterpiece Highway to Hell. Following the tragic 1980 death of original frontman Bon Scott, the band recruited English singer Brian Johnson and released Back in Black, which remains the second best-selling album of all time. Despite numerous lineup changes and the 2017 passing of rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, the band has maintained its status as a global stadium-filler, earning a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2003 and a Grammy Award in 2010 for "War Machine."
