Salma Hayek Pinault
Born in 1966 in Mexico, Salma Hayek Pinault rose to international stardom as a trailblazing actress and producer who broke significant cultural barriers in Hollywood. After gaining early fame in the Mexican telenovela Teresa, she moved to Los Angeles in 1991 and landed her breakout film role in Robert Rodriguez's Desperado (1995). Her most acclaimed achievement came with the 2002 biopic Frida, which she both produced and starred in as painter Frida Kahlo; the performance made her the first Mexican actress to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Beyond her diverse acting credits—ranging from comedies like Grown Ups to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Eternals—Hayek Pinault is a prolific producer through her company, Ventanarosa, and a dedicated activist for women’s rights and UNICEF initiatives.
