Melissa McCarthy
Melissa Ann McCarthy (born August 26, 1970) is a multi-talented American actress, comedian, producer, and fashion designer who first gained major recognition as Sookie St. James on Gilmore Girls (2000–2007). After honing her craft with the improv troupe The Groundlings, she achieved mainstream superstardom and an Academy Award nomination for her breakout role in the 2011 hit Bridesmaids. Her prolific career includes two Primetime Emmy Awards—one for her leading role in the sitcom Mike & Molly and another for her viral guest appearances as Sean Spicer on Saturday Night Live—as well as a second Oscar nomination for her dramatic turn in Can You Ever Forgive Me?. Beyond the screen, McCarthy co-founded the production company On the Day Productions with her husband, Ben Falcone, and launched her own clothing line, Melissa McCarthy Seven7, to advocate for size-inclusive fashion.
