Born on July 27, 1972, in Gainesville, Florida, to legendary soul singer Minnie Riperton and composer Richard Rudolph, Maya Rudolph is a celebrated American actress, comedian, and singer best known for her iconic seven-year stint on Saturday Night Live (2000–2007). After launching her career with the improv troupe The Groundlings and a brief music stint with The Rentals, she became a standout comedic force, renowned for her versatile impressions and character work. Beyond SNL, Rudolph has starred in hit comedies like Bridesmaids, voiced numerous animated roles, won multiple Emmys for Big Mouth and her portrayal of Kamala Harris, and executive-produced the series Loot. Known for her distinct humor and musical roots, she also maintains a long-term partnership with filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson, with whom she has four children.
